    Right click on your desktop...
Go to properties, screensaver, then click Power...
Under System Standby, is it set to Never???

The other thing that could cause it is a system crash...
    To check that...
Right click on My Computer, go to properties...
    Click the Advanced tab...
Click Settings under Startup and Recovery...
Under system failure, uncheck Automatically restart.

If the problem is caused by a sys crash it wont restart next time... it will show an error screen instead.

Yes you can read them... more info here...
