People, does anyone know what’s going on? I’m exhausted. If Google at least gave an honest answer, something like: “We will never send you traffic again, we don’t need small sites anymore”, I would understand. I would either shut down the website, or write only for myself, or make it private. My website is 8 years old. In the first 5 years, it was completely stable, traffic grew quickly, and reached 125–150 organic visits per day. Since then, I’ve written over 700 new posts, and not only has the traffic NOT increased, but since 2023, it just keeps falling for six to eight months straight, down to 60–40 visits. Then suddenly, it climbs back up to around 165. Sometimes it hits 175–180 for a week, sometimes 200 for a couple of days, but usually the peak is 150–165. And after reaching that peak, it crashes back to 60. And the whole climb starts all over again. I can’t say I have the worst site on the internet. I’m not even asking for growth anymore, I just want some stability for the sake of my nerves. I work hard, I write new content, and every time, the traffic collapses. What is wrong with my site? What is wrong with Google? Does anyone have any idea what’s happening? If my site were truly bad, if it had serious issues, Google wouldn’t give me traffic back, but it does. It always comes back. Then it drops again. This feels like pure torture.
