We all know that Google & other SE dont like double submits, so what happens if a developer accidently double/tripple submits to google by adding the URL to several of these companies who list you on 200+ SE's? (In the case that they would each overlap eachother on Google)

Please share your wisdom on this subject.

Those autosubmits are useless anyway, if you will have some backlinks, you'll get indexed anyway! :)

I wouldn't think multiple auto-submits would be any worse than auto-submitting in general. I get the impression that SEs generally frown on submissions, so you may want to stay away from them in the future and stick to more organic indexing methods.

Google doesn't care about submitting your site one million times.

Big search engines even don't pay attention to these submits mostly. Though small search engines take care of it but they beg for submission so have not guts to penalize you though its doesn't deserver any penalty too. :)

my friend did that and sergey brin went to his house and beat him up. but his site was fine. so yeah mutiple submits hurt nothing. think of this, couldn't u hurt ur brand new competition by submitting their site till it was hurt/banned? that's why it doesn't matter.

yup,, they're all right! accidentally double submits can't really hurt your sites... and why worry if you're unlisted to the directories you doubled submit??? there are millions of directories that you can submit your site...

    regards!

That's probably not very accurate... Submitting it "accidentally" a couple/few times surely won't set off any alarms, but hitting their servers with the same URL a million times is bound to raise an eyebrow or two.

Thanks for all your replies everyone... I am a little confused now because I read it from a Google webpage that they do in fact penalize people for double submitting their URLs.

And one more quick question if I may.

My research has taught me that Google hates tricky SEO plots such as gaining hundreds/thousands of inbound links within a rapid timeframe, therefore what are your opinions about the answer to this question:

What is the maximum amount of auto-submitted search engines/directories that Google would accept a webmaster to hand his/her URL out to in one hit?

Eg. Which is the safest while keeping time effectiveness? (a) just list to all the majors one by one, or (b) listing with a site which guarantees to list your URL with approx 40 search engines? or (c) listing with a site which guarantees to list your URL with approx 270+ search engines? or (d) listing with a site which guarantees to list your URL with approx 70,000+ search engines?

Your replies to my comprehensive question would be greatly appreciated... Thank you all in advance

They either become useless or else are counted as duplicates.

They don't penalize double submissions cause if they did that everyone would submit their opponents site everyday :)
