Hi all - Came across this thread researching power links. I notice some of these posts questioning if powerlinks works are a few months old. Has anyone seen results yet? I checked the links to my site and the numbers don't appear as great as powerlinks claims: http://www.ItsJustCoffee.com Thanks, Matt
this is how powerlinks worked for me and all my sites that used it I got banned by yahoo.. ya lost a huge chunk of traffic and now yahoo & google have banned powerlinks.com so and no matter who u get links from it could take a few months for google, yahoo or msn to find the links.
Take a look at this website instantpokerchips.com This website was started in front of me, completely new website, and later i saw it coming over hi in serps. I bet you this website was having PR2 or 3 (4 months back) Now its linked with power links and getting high in serps. Any comments appreciated. As I am seriously considering powerlinks.com
use link vault see my sig and check the buy & sell forum for buying links also check out the directory forum to find directories to submit two and write articles and submit them see http://www.articleannouncer.com/ and see read up on it http://seo-easy-search-engine-optimization.com/articleannouncer.html
Powerlinks is a complete waste of space. 4 months of subscription got me around 80 useless links. POWERLINKS ARE BANNED FROM GOOGLE - They require you link back to their member sites - and most of their member sites are hosted under their (BANNED) domain (ie subdomains). If you sign up, you'll ultimately be linking to a 'bad neighbourhood'. Remember, who you link to matters. There's plenty of alternatives to powerlinks, I suggest you explore the offerings of a provider who can deliver, and clearly demonstrates that ability. In fact, I think it's time I did some house cleaning myself.. Cheers, JL
i have had nothing but good results from powerlinks. all 3 of my websites uses powerlinks. my first site became a member in jan 05 and i'm over 4,000 links, I check my links through Linkdash.com, with very good positions with my main keywords, but mostly on MSN, but i also use LinkMarket which i feel is the best out there. If powerlinks is banned from goggle should i remove the link from my site for i have them hosting the link page? I'm still kinda new at this. thanks...oh yeah and i have a page rank of 3 and i had my site since Jan...
I'd be very careful about still using them WinJam especially if they are still hosting your link pages. They are going to stop people doing that shortly anyway. In future you'll have to host your own pages. As i said earlier on this thread i used them on several sites and got good results but i've cancelled my subscription now.
Just received a e-mail from Powerlinks.com saying I have to host my own link pages. In taking BobL advice I just cancelled all my subscriptions. Oh yeah and now they have turned everything over to LinksMaster.com, What is that all about.
Hi Lynda: Dynamically generated pages can appear to be completely static to website visitors & search engines. This dramatically reduces the amount of disk space required as no actual HTML pages actually exist on your sever. If any of your web pages are more than two levels from your home page, you might want to include this directive in the head section of the page: <meta name="robots" content="index, follow"> This is especially useful when you have a directory with category and sub-category listings. The only reason powerlinks.com was banned was because of the links pages that they were hosting on subdomains of powerlinks.com. Otherwise their service was no different than any other link exchange program - it was just a lot less work. I got their email today, and I think it is a good move for them to get away from hosting their member's links pages on subdomains. I always wondered if that would cause them trouble. I wish they would have gotten away from it long ago before they got banned by Google for it. As long as they don't do that any longer I am not worried. I have been using them for about six months, and I host my own links page. It still retains great PR. If the search engines ever find fault with the way their members host their own links pages, they will have to find fault with every website that has a links page. I don't think that is going to happen anytime soon.
I didn't want to cancel my subscription with them cause I know I will now lose a lot of Link's, not sure what that is going to do as far as my rankings. But I got a little worried when they were telling website owner that if they can't host the link pages on their own website to put the link pages on another website that can host them and than have a link from their home page pointing to that link page on the other website. Is that even legal to do.
I don't see any problem with it. If site A is linking to a bunch of sites and site B is receiving a link from all those sites, that shouldn't be cause for alarm. What caused me concern was all those links pages on subdomains of powerlinks.com. Now that they are gone I don't see any problem with the system. But someone else may argue that. There are always going to be people who will argue that link exchange services are bad. But 99% of the link exchange services out there have not been banned - because they are not doing anything except exchanging links. As long as they don't try to do something like setting up all those links pages on subdomains, they should be fine. That's my two-cents anyway.
here's my powerlinks experience yahoo banned all my sites all my sites had powerlinks i removed powerlinks now all my site are back in yahoo 2 seo experts told me powerlinks was the cause they were right I am not willing to risk being banned for some link ill get em else where
That is nothing but false speculation Bloodwrath - no one has been banned for using PowerLinks. I just checked several hundred of the member's websites that are in the directory and they all have good PageRank and good ranking. I have been using them myself for over six months and none of my sites are banned. Whatever happened to you must have been because of something else. The only reason the PowerLinks website got penalized was due to all of the links pages on the subdomains. Now that they are gone, the bad neighborhood is gone. As long as no one is linking to those subdomains they won't have any problems. Anyway, the ban on the subdomains just happened two weeks ago. Before that they all had good PageRank. So, whatever happened to you prior to that had to be because of something else. Stuff happens sometimes for reasons that are beyond us. It would be one thing if a lot of the PowerLinks members had lost ranking or something, but they haven't. You are the only one making this claim - so I would chalk it up to another cause. Maybe you got banned for being involved in that text link exchange that you are advertising?
Mark I'm trying to understand this 'subdomain' thing a little better. If your linkpage is being hosted on a totally different website and you have a link on your websites homepage pointing to that other websites linkpage, wouldn't that be considered a 'subdomain', I'm not disagreeing with you but just trying to understand. And I defiantly agree with you where people will always say link exchange services are bad, for I'm using LinkMarket right now, where both linkpartners must agree on exchanging links and than you have to manually put the links on your linkpage, how can that be a bad service, but yet I read in this forum where people say LinkMarket is a bad service.
I have used powerlinks for almost a yr i got in when i had just over 400 members.. and i used to push them big time , it was the greatest thing i found for links.. but time change also the reason your giving is very similar to the one they emailed all thier customers.. its from thier mouth.. and i wonder how much truth is in it? its logic.. how would all my sites get banned (its like 25 domains.sites) i have 6 different hosting companies, serveral different IP over half only had powerlinks.. no other links exhcanges, i started link vault after the yahoo deindex it happened when yahoo did thier upgrade a few months ago, march or apr this is what they said - Cloaking (showing crawlers deceptive content about a site) - Massive domain interlinking- Use of affiliate programs without the addition of substantial unique content - Use of reciprocal link programs (aka "link farms") - Hidden text - Excessive keyword repetition since i have dont nothing else except exchange links.. plus seo experts aaron wall and Brad Callen who i deeply respect also suggested it was powerlinks and how can u deny 1 week after i cancel my powerlinks account all my sites are reindex'd by yahoo after being kicked out for 3-4months but your right ya it was probelly a conscience i cant believe that at all
