Does anyone know how to make video tutorials?

You know the type where you make a video showing what you are doing on screen and you walk your viewers through whatever you are doing with your mic.


How do you do this and what programs do you recommend?

i use camtasia

You can use Wink as well, but Camstasia is also cool

What I do is create a screen capture video and record the audio at the same time using Audacity. But if you are just starting out you can do a screen capture video and record the audio at the same time its probably easier but I prefer to use audacity incase I make a mistake.

But yeah that's pretty much all you need to do. Either edit it using camtasia (thats what I do) or windows movie maker.

there is a free version called camstudio as well... check it out...

 

With windows movie maker you can make simple videos too.

Yep Camtasia costs decent cash. I've heard it's probably the best Screencast software.

I guess the guy meant you can get it for FREE for 30days.

Well worth the dosh it could become one of your main activities.

 

Hypercam is 100% free and is just as good as Camtasia.

You can use Jing or screentoaster

they are free

then you can edit in video editing software, make sure your editor can handle the file formats that your screen capture produces.

 

Remember you can post a link to a sample of your video if you want some feedback.

 

Here is the easiest way

make a powerpoint presentation then record it with EM Powerpoint Recorder (it's free to download)

To put your audio on just record it as you click through the slides. Pretty easy, and free

 

Camtasia can do this for you, it has a free trial and it also comes with an ecllent screen capture program
