Hi Guys I have been playing poker online for a while now and have been winning quite a lot at small stakes and so I am looking to move into bigger stakes games and Live Tournament play and also playing Cash Games at casinos But I do not have a very big bankroll and so cannot afford entry fees for tourneys or stakes for cash games so I am looking to get a sponsor who will pay my entry fees or put up my stakes and then take a cut of my winnings? Does anyone know how I would go about this? Can I just approach companies direct? I would be eager to hear any ideas that DP members may have
Don't waste your time approaching poker sites / companies to get sponsored. When you have won a few million or won a bracelet, etc, then you can approach them. If you play any live poker in casinos and are doing well, you probably can strike up some friendships that route. For now, I would focus on playing satellites to get into larger tourneys or work on building your bankroll at smaller stakes. Another option would be the site ChipMeUp. You could try and put yourself on that site to try and sell shares of yourself. Most of getting staked in live poker is getting noticed. The way you get noticed is to get out there and play.
