I wan to edit my main page for my wordpress blog, via html so i can put some new stuff, but i cant find which file i need to edit through my webserver. I want to edit the html of my wordpress blog so it will appear differently, but i don't want to do it with the CP.
login as admin > presentation > edit themes and edit the file u want.... header.php post.php footer.php and so on
But it dosent let me edit the files that i want, something about being writable, which i did make CHMOD 0777 for all of my wordpress files
before i set the round theme to 0777, but i dont think it had any affect, should i do the hole theme directory or just the theme that i want to be able to edit. Ill set it again and see what happens
What I do is use FTP to download a copy of the file, edit it locally on my desktop, and then I upload it. I always want a backup copy on my desktop. I never edit directly. Rich
Yes i did it! you have to change the permission of the style.css directly, not to just change the permission for the main folder of your theme.
hi gys, I even can't see below file when i have login into the admin area. header.php post.php footer.php ... Why? Am i miss out anything?
Spell out in plain English what it is you want to do and are trying to do. (Not trying to insult you, just want to see how you're trying to go about this.)
