Do any of you here set up related blogs in the same niche (make about 9 or so posts on each blog, make it SEO friendly) and put it on a seperate C Class hosting account and fake the whois info and then get backlinks to your original site. I recently read that this is a very good technique but the time (writing out the articles) and money (will cost an additional $15 a month for minimum of three feeder sites makes me wonder whether it's worth it and wondered if any of you internet marketers who have tried it can tell me whether it's worthwhile or whether I'm better of just building backlinks... thanks
i'm sure lot will use this method of getting relevant backlinks but in my view. this would be a waste of time, effort, and money. lot of work for just getting a backlinks form relevant sites. you can contact other webmaster on same niche and request link backs. when emailing other webmasters, dont contact any site owner who is in direct competition with you but contact sites that complement yours. aside form that, there are plenty of web 2.0 sites where you can publish such blogpost that you would post on self hosted blogs. setup those blogs on popular web 2.0 sites and publish your articles with your links which will give you relevant backlinks. you can also do article marketing to get relevant backlinks
It is a LOT of work and will add extra money to the monthly subscription something I don't particularly want. I've read getting links back from highly relevant blogs which are seo optimised can have a drastic affect on the rankings. I remember reading on Jeff Johnson's blog that many of his keywords were on the first page after a day or so (the blogs with links to the 'money site' were highly related - we're talking LSI words )
