Hi all I have a real bug to learn about video production but I can't afford to do anymore courses (time or moneywise) so I'm going to teach myself. I've been playing with Windows Movie Maker but frustrated with the lack of functionality. I want to edit both film and also perhaps look into animation as well (think collage, Peter Gabriels Sledgehammer if you're old enough!). If this is you I'd appreciate some tips on software - from the cheap and cheerful right up to the expensive stuff like Premiere. Also if you have any website recommendations that'd be great too. Thanks Lily
I use Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0. and am happy with it. I agree, Movie Maker is a little clumsy, especially for precise editing. Good luck and show (off) your work soon
Hi Pixel Thanks for your reply - I was wondering how the earlier (and slightly less hugely expensive!) versions of Premiere compared to the up-to-date versions - that's useful to know. Cheers - and when I get something together I'll show you. Busy teasing together a little intro lesson for my site in Movie Maker at the moment. From little acorns eh!
Hello, I was using Adobe Premiere Pro 1.6 before 2.0 came out and although the basics are the same the new version is a lot more intuitive and user friendly, especialy because you can adjust the size of each window (makes a world of difference).
Thanks for your replies - I'll definately be checking this out. Premiere is the one that seems to be mentioned most often.
you should post 'this' thread in the graphics and MM section I've always used Vegas Video...owned by Sony now.
