    Hi,

Does anyone here experience having trouble with google webmaster tools?

3 days after I resubmit my sitemap.xml on GWT, I saw bunch of crawl errors on my GWT

My Problem is GWT crawl a page on my site that doesn't exist, i mean the URL does not exist, The page is a 404 not found and it appears on crawl errors.

How do you deal with it?

I just deleted all the errors, but I still am curious about it.

    Thanks a lot in advance

It's hard to say without looking at your sitemap.xml and your site. If your site is new and you're using a sitemap.xml to get it indexed then you probably have URLs in your sitemap.xml for pages that do NOT exist on your site. This would result in a 404 Not Found error being logged under crawl errors.

It could also be that on your site (or an external site as well) that there is a link to a URL on your site that does not exist. When that link is crawled, the crawler will request the page on your site. If your web server does not find the page and returns a 404 Not Found HTTP status then this too would cause 404 errors to be logged under crawl errors.

You generally don't want to ignore such errors. It means you have a link to a non-existent page or a bad URL in your sitemap.xml. Research it, find the cause, and and in most cases you'll want to fix it.

If you are getting 404 error in Google webmastertools, you can make sure there is a wrong url placed in your website. In Google webmaster tools you can see the actual location of the 404 url. Using that help you should either replace that wrong url with correct one or remove it.

Delete your old sitemap.xml file from your root, regenerate new sitemap.xml file and upload it. First you want to know where is the error, my suggestion is run Xenu then you know exact error location.

They also could be left over from an earlier design that google thinks is still there. Either way, when google does locate this, they will remove it for you.

is it okay if i just deleted it all? the redirection is no use because the page crawl by google is not really related to the site i don't know where the page came from. I just resubmit the sitemap.xml then a day or 2 I checked the crawl errors then there it was 230 crawl errors. check all the page then the page is completely a 404 not found

I never used the sitemap from there, I use a sitemap mod for my forum's type, SMF. I just use webmaster tools mostly to find good keywords, and haven't even done that lately because the keywords haven't changed.
