Got the payment via Paypal, Thanks

@AmanDH: they are very legit... to get approved you would need your own developed SW which is already distributed/downloaded by many users... Than they approve your account quickly and you make fortune. Per each install you get up to $2 it depends what you bundle to your SW installation...

I worry about the whole "we pause publishers who have low retention rates" language. Who decides what's too low? And how is it really in the control of the software developer anyway?

It says "Easy 10 minute coding" but I wonder just how easy it is to incorporate the ad code? I don't see anything on the website that even shows a demonstration of it.

Are these default checked installs, or are they deliberate user-choice installs? Meaning, are the installs already checked so that the user can accidentally press "next" or "install" and install the advertiser's software if he/she isn't paying attention (those are always the best ones)? Or is it user-choice where the user has an obvious yes or no option?

What is the standard rate that publishers get paid? Or does each advertiser offer different rates?

Do they have adult advertisers for adult software?

Lots of questions, but the site provides few answers, perhaps I'm, missing them?

So you already have to have a popular piece of software to even get a chance? Not surprising considering HyperInk thinks the same way and are another Y Combinator affiliated company. But the thing is, if I have a bunch of users who already have my software and it's not software that needs updating a lot if ever, then it wouldn't make sense to use InstallMonetizer or any type of ad-support company. So in a case like that, startup software sounds like a much better candidate than software that your user base already has... Hmmmm...

Exactly if you dont get new installs or updates than it does not make sense... But I am not saying that they dont have some solution for such SW developers... its always to check with them directly :)

You're right Webmoney. I guess it just agitates me that there doesn't seem to be any companies willing to take on SW devs that are trying to push start-up software. At least just an incubator program would be nice. Every time companies come out with these types of things it seems like a chance for start-up software to get a shot, then you read the fine print and realize that it's just another old boy's network being created where only the popular guys can get in.

It seems so hypocritical because the very same companies doing this were or are currently start-ups themselves. It's like you and a buddy are on an adventure and you're both racing to a closing door before the dragon eats you both; your buddy manages to slip in through the door and save himself but rather than leave it open so you can get in too, he closes the door on you and lets you get eaten by the dragon, and he's like "Eff it, I'm safe so to hell with my buddy"

I am not saying your account would not be approved... it might get only less chance so you will need to talk to them more and explain your plans...
I am sure that if you get possibility to monetize your downloads than you can plan how much you spend for advertising to make profit...

The question should be how much to they cheat? First of all payouts are often as low two cents. They give you a dollar about every 20 installs from my experience but they don't report more than 5- 10 % of your installs from my experience. I quit their site after I had a good day of over two hundred installs and my report showed only seven installs. They even accused me of doing something to cheat when I had a high download count and refused to pay and kept asking me what I did to inflate my download count. Looks like they only want sites with minimal downloads and kick you out if you make too much money. I saw this with another member of their site that made $900 but was never paid. Couldn't believe I wound up in the same situation. They might owe me $500 or more and haven't got paid a penny. Not one penny. Huge waste of time also.
