Does anybody know?

Does anybody know if it is better to get a blog site with paid hosting? or one with free hosting ie blogspot?

 

depends having your own hoster gives u a more affective domain

 

If you want to get serious about blogging, brand yourself and make money blogging it is better to get your own domain. I see people too often get started with a free blog to only go through the hassle of trying to move it to a self-hosted blog.

If you are completely new to blogging you might want to mess around with a free blog at wordpress.com. If you think you will enjoy and want to get serious about it then get a domain name and hosting account before you put much effort into the free blog.

 

Well, there are both pros and cons with having a paid hosting. You'll have more alternatives, can sometimes write about more stuff, and you can customize it all after your own taste.
But you'll have hosting bills to pay and a totally new domain to market...

 

From what ive learned, and if your thinking long term then go for hosting your own blog, understand that you could post on a blogger blog for 3 years and they can delete it at anytime.

 

I definitely agree that its much better to host your own blog; hosting these days is pretty cheap and usually free for a year when you buy a domain; $10-$20 isn't expensive for control over your blog.
