Hey, Do you guys know GlobalPost? I noticed they have been publishing my entire posts... See: Original post vs. what they took The original vs. what they took It happened to me before, some empty websites just aggregate parts and bits of feeds. But here, they are publishing my entire posts, pictures etc.! I seems to be a big enough website, I'm surprising they don't ask blogger for permission to publish their feed. And I sincerely don't remember signing up, becoming a "correspondent" for them or anything like that. Am I just paranoid here? Can they publish my whole posts without asking for permission?
I've heard of them..they're huge. ..I've heard of theft (a lawyer stole content from me lol ) but that's really bad. Contact them to have it removed, don't let them keep it because your site will get hit with a dupe content penalization.
I contacted them very politely asking them why they were publishing my entire posts etc. No reply of course.
Hi, Everything is cleared up. Zhu and I had communicated a year ago and she had approved an e-mail that may not have been as clear as it should have been because she did not understand that we have a full-text feed arrangement with all of the nearly 400 bloggers world-wide whom we work with. We have now amicably agreed to discontinue our relationship, and no more of Zhu's work will be appearing on GlobalPost.com and all of her work that has appeared on GlobalPost has been deleted. Our apologies for any misunderstandings or offense. Sincerely, John Wilpers Global Blog Coordinator GlobalPost.com jwilpers@globalpost.com
On my side: I did receive an email a year ago. At the time, GlobalPost wasn't up and running and I had been contacted to "collaborate with GlobalPost". I had provided a biography as asked and I had received no further emails after that. My mistake for not remembering communicating with GlobalPost. I was out of the country for several months and left it like that. However, I wish to point out the agreement was less than clear. I hadn't agreed to have my feed republished. As I told GlobalPost, I see no benefit in having my full work published (duplicate content) without any financial compensation. I did not get traffic either. GlobalPost was quick to react as you can see it in this forum. Case closed.
