Does anybody here sell gift items online?

I realize that is a broad question, but not sure how to word it properly without a 5 million word thread title.

What I mean is the type of products you can buy via memberships to companies for the purpose of reselling. These are usually gift type items such as picture frames, little knick-knacks, but some of these companies offer just about everything for you to resell.

I was thinking about starting a site like this with a couple memberships I have had for quite some time, as well as selling some unique items I find occasionally at estate sales.

Anybody done this successfully? I know there are thousands of sites out there like that, but it is probably safe to assume that a majority of sites that put those kinds of sites up simply buy the ready made site and then leave it out there thinking it will achieve good rankings and make them rich without any further investement.

That would be the case, but with all the sites you can find on the net that do this, I was wondering what the chances were of doing it successfully at this point.

I was thinking of selling item, get it wholesale and sell it retail, but so many people are selling on online that the profit margin is low, its not worth the money. And you have to package it and go to the post office, takes to many time.
