I haven't fallen for any scams yet, however, I do see them all the time. It drives me crazy when a seller claims a brand new site is making $1,354/mo and only wants to sell it for $150/buy it now. Do they really think we are that stupid? The best one I have seen yet is a baby store for sale and the manually put inserted "Sales" in the database and said the site had been up since 2011. The way I figured it out was that every sale happened at 12:00:00 and it was always in the context of $xx.99 but the real sales on the site that started April 14 2014 happened at random times of the day and were random values such as $65.23. I just think its annoying and not right.
Well, get used to it. One of the problems with the Internet is that sellers can hide their true identities and electronic sales/profits records are easy to fake. In the real world, there are still scammers and fakers, but it is a little more difficult for them to get away with it. You see the same phenomenon even on this forum. There are bold, snide, aggressive, and downright rude posters who hide behind the anonymity of an avatar, where in real life, they are probably introverted, pathetic creatures who are too afraid to look up from their shoelaces to actually engage in a discussion with a real person. As a sales guy who deals with a wide range of businesspeople, I see this all of the time. Someone who is nasty and domineering on email or even the phone, turns into a milquetoast when you confront him or her face-to-face. Actually, it is one of my favorite things to do.
if it's too good to be true, then it is 99% of the time. you get what you put in these days...hours=money
this is no different to real life sales, you promise the customer the world only to receive a small amount. all sales pitches are the same
Trust is the primary factor in customer & seller relationship. But if it will break, then it really hurts. Scams are not new but still there are some good sellers in the market.
Actually, some of us thrive by underpromising and then overdelivering. It is a big differentiator in selling.
