does anybody change their keywords daily

I was wondering if changing your keywords around a lot is smart... Say something happens in your niche and you think people will be making searches based on new occurrences but have nothing to do with the topic unless that would have happened. Ex. You have a pharmacy niche and some unknown name does something big in pharmacy. Would it be smart to add their name as a keyword as soon as possible?

SEO is a long-term strategy so frequent changing of keywords would mean effectively re-developing your strategy a lot. In terms of reacting to trends, SEO isn't the quickest way to capitalize on emerging niches - best work with SEM for that.

Certainly add in new keywords when they emerge, but I wouldn't advise chopping and changing your campaign frequently for something as long term as SEO.

You have to delete, add, change keywords until you find the ones that convert. After you got them, you should be really careful.

He's talking PPC not SEO.. yes always adding keywords to your campaigns is great. i usually check my logs with clicktracks and see what people are searching for then use exact matches (ie. [tooth whitening gel refills], [teeth whitening gel refills], etc) to get visitors looking for that specific phrase. it lowers your costs substantially and you can adjust accordingly. you have the right idea.

I can say that changing on a daily basis is tough but if your measurements show that the words are not performing then change them as often as you need to. The main thing is to have an analytics program to measure keywords that turn into sales versus cost f the click. Some are easire such as my flat rate georgia mls listing there is only one product and that makes measurement easy but with a lingerie store has 1000's of products you could end changing ppc listings on a regular basis. THe main thing is measurement of your current campaign.

you can change Bids on keywords on daily basis not keywords.. you need to keep the keyword for some durations say about a week time to come to a conclusion whether a keyword is profitable or not...hence change bids if you want to but not keyword...as sometimes the traffic may be high on mid week and low of end of week
