Does an H1 need to be the first heading on a page?

Hi, I wants heading to be very large at the top of a page to say "Blog" and underneath it have an h1 with the keywords, but very much smaller, saying "Keyword keyword keyword blog".

I could make the larger heading at p span or could I make it an h3?

If you think logically then yes it should be. Imagine a content say article where title is lies in the middle of the content. Now do you like such content to be listed as a well written and formatted one.

Answer is NO..... So always tries to use H1 tag in the beginning of the content.

 

Afaik Google doesn't measure the size or the position of a H1 on a page. Many high authority sites have pages where there are plenty of H2s - H5s before the H1. Google just interprets H1 as the most important headline on that page.

You are essentially thinking of manipulating your page, therefore, you are thinking of having the keywords in h1 tag. You should just stick to the right thing. Keep h1 for the heading of the page. Include keywords intelligently spread across your entire page content.

Well interesting part about your question is that it will not create any problem for the SEO but i it will be very harmful for the user experience

- Because GoogleBot loves a very well structured page.
- Use H1 before H2
- H3 should be placed after H2
- H2 and H3 could be more than one in a page

Yeap, many people don't use H1 and there websites are ranked lower in search engine, it is better to use H1 and H2 for headings.

One page only allow one big heading with H1. If use too much , Search Engine will not analyse which is important while they are so many. 
So do put one top heading with H1 size will do .
