Quick question if a site has say around 200,000 pages index on a search engine would this increase search engine traffic or rankings within a search engine

The more indexed pages you have the better chance you will have of somebody finding your site.

    Content is King

Of course. Each word on each page is another chance that someone will find your site via a search engine.

The more pages indexed - the more traffic potential.

This the one of the reasons why big forums stay on top of the list - they have more indexed pages. If you have a new forum with 100 indexed pages, and a forum with 200,000 indexed pages - people are more likely to find the big forum first.

The more pages you have indexed, the easier it is for people to find you. This is especially true if you have an exact target nitch that you have tapped into.

    cocopops 2 thingss.

    1. Some do try this but its spam and black hat if the content is trash. Meaning the site must have meaning or at least a clear point.

    2. Google will ban you to hell if they find out your flooding there bot with crap.

I guess if you have thousands of low quality webpages the SEs would still "notice" you.

Just like throwing thousands of lures into the water, you would get something.

It affect for sure. I started a huge website last month (from scratch pagerank 0. no promotion (only add my URL in google)) and so far I have +12 000 pages indexed on google and the traffic is increasing exponentially. So yes the more relevant pages your site have, the better chance visitors will find you on the search engine.

And many, if not tons, of websites outside feed themselves with Google result and will index you as well if they find you.

you should also put unique meta tags and content for all those 200.000 pages and update them from time to time
