    Dear All
I saw lot of sites which have high alexa ranking but its reviews are very bad...So can we trust on a site only on the basis of high alexa ranking? One main of reason of highranking of site in alexa is alexa toolbar Is it true? saher your views here.............

IMHO You shouldn't trust any site based on alexa rank.

One of my sites hardly gets 10 visitors a day. But it is ranked ~ 800,000.

If you used to browse your sites regularly (with alexa toolbar installed browser), your rank will fall between 100,000 - 500,000.

    i agree.

To be honest I don't know anyone who uses the Alexa toolbar, i never have.

I just went for a quick look to see what it says about a site I have with 10k+ unique a day. It has a ranking of 67,022 - 3 mos. Avg. Right now it says 25,193 - Today.

What does that tell me? A few more people with the toolbar installed have paid me a visit as traffic on that site has had an average 10k for a while now.

stick to your own stats as a benchmark of your sites progress (imo)

    :)

Alexa only takes up those visits which are made thru their toolbar....
    This is just CRAZY......

No.. For Alexa its only about the toolbar... I had read this somewhere. Alexa counts only those visitors who have been using its toolbar. The main problem with Alexa is that it only counts visitors from all major countries so that why the uniques are comparitively less from that of our own stats.

nope, on day i opened a new site and the first month i added alexa ranking my site was "303.000" and it was like that for few weeks although i hadn't started promoting the site yet :D

alexa is bad- i think Google page rank is better ranking
