nope i don't use alexa rank, it's biased and human based. you never know whether the results are true or not. anyway, it's another point of benchmarking your site, so it's totally up to you.. but the most important thing is not to get carried away with any benchmarking tools available.. and they are good for analyzing ur site, not to rely on theirs. just my 2 cents
It doesn't have any effect on Google rank but Google rank have an effect on Alexa since Alexa is measured by the no. of visitors you are having on your site.
Google rank is concerned with quality sites while Alexa rank is focusing on the traffic to your site. The two are separate companies. They don't share data with each other. And they are using different technologies.
As far as I know both are two different entities. Sites with high PR doesn't mean that alexa ranking is good as well.
Actually it's good for 1 thing at a minimum. If a site has 10,000,000+ Alexa ranking, it's safe to say it has crap for traffic. Nobody tries to cheat their Alexa score to reflect less traffic than they actually get. So, if you're link building on sites you want to get direct traffic from, it's a quick reference to eliminate some of the field.
No No, and never. I've ever seen a site with alexa rank is 25000000, but google PR is 5, and a site with alexa rank is 16000, but Google PR onley 3!
Theres no link. Alexa is pretty useless in my opinion, it monitors traffic figures and is only based on users who have the toolbar installed. Which is a very small percentage so its totally unreliable anyway.
I think yes, Alexa's info is also used for estimating your website;s traffic and ultimately your popularity. It is not very important factor though. Contact me if you want to increase your Alexa rank by the way (for free)
Google PR and Alexa Ranking are completely different and neither incorporate the others rating in their formula..
