Does Aitdomains.com cheat me?

I registered some domain names with aitdomains.com more than a year ago. They supposed to expire in April, 2008. I only wanted to renew one of them. I sent a request to transfer this domain to another registrar. I didn't get any response until it was expired on April 8th. (I didn't pay close attention to this expiration date.) Then I had to renew it at aitdomains.com. I renewed it online around April 12. There was no any error message when I did it online. My domain keeps working until yesterday.

I called aitdomains.com yesterday. They told me that my renewal didn't go through and there is no record about my renewal and I have to pay $150 redemption fee to keep my domain.

Did aitdomains.com cheat me? First, they ignored my request to transfer out the domain and force me to renew with them. Second, I renewed my domain with aitdomains.com during the grace period, but they didn't take it and force me to pay a steep redemption fee. What a business it that.

This domain is making some money for me. Even if I pay the redemption fee to keep it, I am going to lose a lot of repeat visitors and links because it is down and will be until it is restored. It there any other ways to fight this ugly and dirty business practice?

You told that your website under your domain was working until Yesterday If yes then AitDomain.com is cheating you. Do you have any payment details for the domain renewal or any other receipts for payment? Pm me your domain so that I can check its statistics.

I renewed the domain online. There was no any error messages when I did it. I didn't receive any emails regarding the failed renewal. I thought everything is ok until the domain was down yesterday. They didn't charge the renewal fee. I suspect they did it on purpose, but I don't have any proof. I don't know why my online renewal didn't go through without any warning.
