Does age matter for SEO, or is it just PR?

    Age Helps because of TRUST factor it carries. If your competition are old enough and have a army of good quality relevant links then it would be not easy to defeat them.
    But what you can do is look for some relevant links which are dofollow.
    Get some links from HIGH authority sites like wikipedia. I know many will say, that it is nofollow and will not help, but believe me it will help your site. Go for diversification of links as well.
    Also getting army of links will not help if you do not have a smart on page optimization.

    Another thing I'm wondering about is web sites IP addresses.

    Age does matter. I think it makes a difference after the 2, 4, and 6 year periods, by increments of 2.
