Hiya, I just want to clear up Does age affect ranking? For instance a 10 year old domain against a few year old domain? I have various different sides and wanted to clear it up for once? Thanks,
Hi Lucas, How are you? Regarding your questions, let me give you some clarity here. The search engine rankings are affected by about 200 odd factors and certainly one of the factors are link age. But remember that link age is not all. you can still easily rank above an aged website with more relevant content and good backlinks. To be more specific below are few top reasons you should consider 1. Page Rank of the page 2. Domain age 3. Backlinks to domain 4. Backlinks to page 5. Listing in EDU or GOV giving link juice or backlinks 6. Head, H1, H2, H3, Description, Keywords, URL keywords and other factors. Hope this helped you a bit. warm regards Joshu
Age does affect ranking. And the older the domain in a particular niche would generally rank better than a relatively new domain in the same niche. But be cautious and do your research well if you plan to buy an well aged domain. Although the domain name has been registered long ago, if the previous owners were delinquent with their seo methodologies, then this could play against you.
depends on how popular the words in the domain are. if they are, then age would matter, however a new domain that uses a commonly used word may rank better, than an old domain that no one would just type out, out of the blue
When you're comparing a site 10 years old against a site 8 years old, the effect is minimal if at all. The age of the domain is generally only something to worry about when it's either brand new or just a few months old.
It does have an impact on the ranking but its certainly not that big that a less aged domain cannot overhaul it.
As the site goes older the page rank will increase too but unfortunately age is not factor for the increase in Google ranking
i think domain age is one factory which google consider in ranking at time to compare with other sites.
Age is one of hundred ranking factors Google is considering for a website. So when you are registering a domain, its plus from ranking prospective to register it for longer period of time
Yes Age is a factor, but if you have a lot more quality backlinks than other competing websites, you can easily outrank them.
Without doubt age is an factor for PR, however, Only age is not enough for getting high PR, original content is also important.
Yes, domain age is definitely a factor. Just search for "make money online" in Google, and you'll see some very outdated sites on the front page. They can be beat though if you do enough SEO.
