Does adwords + comission junction really work ?

I had been using adwords to market a hosting company and the cost of first page bid for "hosting" keyword is around $10 in USA , so i never tried instead i marketed it in South Asia region where the first page bid is around $2, but still i was able to make only 1 sale and a comission of 100$ after spending $300 which is a loss for me , so i am wondering does this combination really works , can any one share their experiences ? . Glad i didn;t do in USA area which would have bankrupted me :)

I think combination of both should work.

Many, many ads on Adwords are affiliate ads, and whether it is CJ, Clickbank or an independent, makes no difference.

Your problem is that you seem to have chosen to promote the merchant with the highest payout - that's what all the newbies do, and they battle each other and all lose. Meanwhile an experienced PPC marketer is paying 5c a click for something that has a 50% conversion rate and pays 11c. That cent profit doesn't sound like much, but with 1000 clicks per day, that's $70/week, and just 10 of those is enough to live on, virtually running on autopilot.

I agree with Enginez. You need to pick a product that has a decent payout but not a lot of competition. The problem with a hosting product is that not only are you competing against every one else that chose that product to advertise, you are also competing against those that chose other hosting companies to promote. That is a *lot* of competition for so few spots on the first page of Google.

CJ has thousands of offers. So too does Primus, ClickBank and many other affiliate marketing companies. Take your time in picking a product. More times than not, you'll find you can make more money with a $30 pay-out product than a $100 pay-out... why? Because the product converts better and has less competition.

If I tell a single soul about those that make me money, bye bye income. I can tell you that, for me, it took years of practice before I started earning well. It's rare to find easy money online.

To be successful in PPC affiliate marketing really takes a combination of things: PPC skill, picking the right niche and products, low enough priced keywords and high enough commission to make the numbers work and a high converting offer.

High conversions are key. You can make out even with lower commissions if you drive enough traffic and get high conversions. Unfortunately you typically can't tell how good the conversions are until you try a merchant out.

The biggest key in PPC affiliate marketing is testing, failing, learning from your mistakes and tweaking the process. I know super affiliates making 300,000 a month with PPC. But they lost a lot of money testing and it took a lot of time to build up to that level of earning.

    Hang in there!

It can be done, but don't expect it to be fast or easy. Like others have said, it takes a lot of experimentation. Constantly testing new markets and tweaking existing ones is the key, and you'll likely lose money early on.
