Does Adwords affect Adsense?

Hi, I noticed something strange the past few days. I am using adwords and have built up a nice CTR so I was able to lower my CPC down to a few cents per click (why pay more!?). I noticed that my eCPM for my adsense droped from a stable $4 to under $1 !! Is there a link between Adwords and Adsense? Anyone know anything about this?

    cheers,
    chris

Adwords $ pays publishers (Adsense). So yes, they are directly related. Without Adwords their would be no Adsense.

No, there's no direct relation between the spend in your adwords account and the ecpm in your adsense account.

Thanks. That's clear. Will let it run and see how it goes.

Well I see a relation here.

Since Adword is a contextual advert system, User who click on your ad are actually intrested in your content, not in the ads your pages show.
If your site is having good information/quality content why would anyone click on you ads, Specialy people who've come from adwords?
so assuming that you are getting usual no of clicks but Adword adds extra no of visitor than usual.

    so with simple mathematics-
More page impressions + usual no of clicks = less eCPM.
