As an AdSense virgin I'd like to find out if AdSense picks up adwords from a page if most of the relevant content on the page is text in hyperlinks. I'm planning a site where users can search various geographically filtered data. As AdSense does not work with Google Maps (cannot determine the map's location), my idea is to list the search results next to the map, with the headline of the result being a clickable hyperlink and two additional lines of information, displayed much like Google's search results. Will AdSense recognize adwords in such hyperlinks? Given the nature of the site, most eligible adwords (typically names of cities) will be in such hyperlinks. thanks, Csaba
Yes. I'm not an expert, but I'm pretty sure it just 'reads' all of the text on the page, regardless of it being a hyperlink or not.
I mean there will be no "article" on my pages, only 20 search results, arranged in a similar fashion as on Google search results. The main info will appear in a hyperlink, with some additional info in smaller font in 1 or 2 lines underneath. Users will be able to open these hyperlinks and see actual text. I'm sure AdSense will work on these pages, as there will be actual text (not hyperlink). I wonder if it's possible to show AdSense ads based on my search results page where text appears mostly in hyperlinks (and these will include some valuable AdWords). Right now I'm in the phase of designing my website. I'd like to present some meaningful content, but also make money out of it, so cross-linking and AdWords optimization are of key importance. thanks Csaba
It certainly keys off of the anchor text in any links on your page. So, unless you are doing something unusual, like pulling the search results in an iframe from someone else's site, I would think what you are describing should work fine. In any case, it doesn't take much time to test it out.
