This morning I decided to change the colors of the links for my ads. I changed nothing else. So far my ecpm is skyrocketing...it's up like 7X it's normal rate. I'm not expecting it to stay that high, but I'm wondering if Adsense rewards you for experimenting with your ads. Based on the amount of clicks, etc. it doesn't appear to be getting more clicks than yesterday at this time and it appears to be loading the same ads. Up until today I had used that same color for almost a year. So does Adsense have some kind of built in reward for you to experiment with your ads? It seems that it would then make sense to change link colors every couple of weeks or something. Has anyone done testing on this line of thought?
I doubt it has much to do with Google. More likely your ads are blending better and causing more clicks. I suggest you keep them that color
I just have a hard time believing that this new color is making THAT much of a difference. Click throughs haven't been many more than previous days at this time of the day and it looks like the same ads are loading as yesterday. Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon?
People mess around with there ads all the time, some even call it a game It is not really a phenomenon just a webmasters duties really.
Somebody on another forum mentioned she changed the background colour & text colour of her ads & it made quite a significant difference to her Adsense income. Also, I've heard people talk about ad blindness & if you change the colours, position, format once in a while all of a sudden people will notice them. I can't confirm that this is actually true, but I have seen it mentioned from time to time. Enjoy
Why would they pay you more if you changed the ad color? "Oh, that magenta looks a lot better now on his site. Lets make his ad clicks be $1.00 more than we payed hiim before."
i heard a similar story before: he only changed the color of the adress and the CTR went trough the roof. can you post a link to the site so we can take a peak?
