Does adsense have any effect?

    I was ranked on the front page of msn for a key word and once I put google ad sense on it I dropped to the 3rd page. Does google adsense have any effect of seo?

    IMO, yes it does have an effect, one of my sites has about 30 pages, all of them got PR, except for these 2 pages on which i have put adsense on.

    Adsense ads are not crawled by Google, so they have no effect in google SERPS. As for MSN, you are one of three people in the workld that use MSN for searching, so why does it really matter :)

    dont think any reason would cause by adsense.

    my sites have adsense but i ranked #1 in msn and doing good on other SE's....i dont think it really affects that much.

    Adsense is CASH, and it has an affect to SEO, it can also help your site build traffic... at times

    I would disagree with you that MSN doesn't matter. You just are reaching a different class of users. MSN can be helpful if you have a website that newbie internet people are using. Oftentimes new computers come out of the box with MSN as the home page, and people don't change it, or don't know how to change it.

    I have had some clients that have had a significant amount of traffic from MSN searches. Not as much as google of course, but enough to bring in an extra 20% of business. Which for many small businesses is enough to make the difference.
