Hey, I may sound strange but from what im seeing Google is paying me for page impression. I have 1 channel which is showing 1000 impressions 0 clicks and still has 10 cents on my name. Does google pay for page impression also? Do reply, Thanx for your time. Regards, Admans.
CPM bidding: a new way to generate revenue With site-targeted advertising, advertisers set a maximum CPM bid - that is, the price they are willing to pay for every thousand impressions – and pay on a per-impression basis. This means that, unlike pay-per-click ads, you'll earn revenue each time a CPM ad is displayed on your site. Shannon
Google recently lowered the minimum CPM bid from $1 to $0.25. I suspect this has encouraged a lot more usage of site-targeting and more people are noticing it.
Google should increase the minimum CPM they charge advertisers to at least $2 or so. I think it is unfair to get only $.1 after getting 1000 impressions.
you can recognise a CPM ad. it's the ones that fill up the whole block of ad. it's slightly different from normal ad units because it is (i belive) centered.
That's what I was wondering. Google say they pay by either CPC or CPM but I don't know what are CPM ads showing in my page.
I'm not so sure that's true. I ran a typical text ad in AdWords, site targeted, paid on a CPM basis, and I doubt I got the whole ad unit. I never saw the ad running on the targeted site so I can't really be certain, but I did see lotsa clicks and lotsa new unique visitors so I'm lotsa sure the ads ran. I have seen ads taking up whole AdSense ad units (like the Ford Explorer ads that got so much bad PR), but they usually are image ads, not text like the Ford campaign. CPM revenue is now very much live for AdSense publishers, but for my sites, the $$$ does not come close to the AdSense CPC stuff.
and 1084 days old means that the last post could have been made a few years ago and you have to re-think about hitting that submit button.
LMAO! Bump. I'm actually curious what the pay rate is now for page impressions... Any updates on this?
Effective CPM Effective cost-per-thousand impressions (eCPM) is a useful way to compare revenue across different channels and advertising programs. Essentially, effective CPM represents your estimated earnings for every 1000 impressions you receive. Effective CPM doesn't represent how much you have actually earned -- rather, it's calculated by dividing your estimated earnings by the number of page impressions, then multiplying by 1000. For example, if you earned an estimated $0.15 from 25 page impressions, then your page eCPM would equal ($0.15 / 25) * 1000, or $6.00. If you earned an estimated $180 from 45,000 ad impressions, your ad eCPM would equal ($180 / 45,000) * 1000, or $4.00.
