Does adding more adsense units decrease the CTR?

Does adding more adsense units on my home page decrease the CTR for that page?
So is it better to have as few as possible units so that the CTR will be higher?
I am trying to understand this so I can keep my adsense CTR as high as possible.

That will work out same

More adsense unit = More clicks
less adsense unit = High paying ads

 

Depends on where you place the Ad Units.

If you place all of them above the fold, CTR may go up but CPM may go down as ads of less value will also get noticed.

 

The CTR probably would go up, but the CPC probably down.

 

Thanks for the feedback guys. So does anyone know what would be a good
balance between the two? So in order to get high CTR & high CPC how many
ad units (generally) is a good number?

 

that depends on your page layout and content. you can only place 3 adsense units and lot of AS publisher are using all 3. if properly placed and blended in with the page content and layout, it will surely increase CTR
