I was just wondering that it does becuase for being able to search properly and effectively, Google will surely crawl the site immediately as soon as u added the box.

Can anyone comment on this ? this technique can be really helpful for big sites.

    Regards

Well, Google doesn't mention anything about this, so you are better off talking to Matt Cutts (a Google engineer) about this.

I haven't seen any indication that adding a Google Search box (or any AdSense content for that matter) will help get your site indexed. The processes that govern AdSense and SERPs are separate within Google, and probably have little or no effect on one another.

I thought that when you add AdSense to your site, to provide targeted ads, Google has to index it (at least the gist of the page). Please correct me if mistaken :D

The AdSense bot is not the same as the indexing bot.

Mr Geek is correct - there are two different bots that facilitate AdSense and indexing. The AdSense bot typically hits very quickly after you add the AdSense code to your pages. The indexing bot typically hits when Google gets around to it. ;)

even when the googlebot does crawl, you still might have to wait a while to get indexed

No, I don't believe it will, but I may be wrong. What is the correlation between Google search box and Google indexing? Reminds me of another thought that Google Adsense expedites indexing. Same stand on this.

I read an eBook a while ago about SEO and i remember that the guy who wrote the book saying somethink like: 'add a link to Google on your site, this will put you in Google's good books' or somethink like that... so thats probably rubbish right?

Yup, rubbish piece of advise. Of course you can praise Google but to expect there is an SEO impact in doing such thing is like wishful thinking.

I just release a site, around 2 weeks ago.

It is done correct SEO (beginner of SEO), just using correct Title with keywords/kw-phrases, meta-keywords, meta-description, using kw/kw-phrases on h1 to h3 tags, kw/kw-phrases included i content, added a googlesitemap. No AdSense for Content/Searches, no AdWords etc. Just simple plain basic SEO. Have only been linkbuilding with a maximum of 5 links per week, going slowly on that ... the linkbuilding phase.

The kw-phrase KEI is only 0.03 ... not even worth going for, but I like the site (auction site in Swedish).

It now ranks 11,12 on the targeted kw-phrase, and climbing.

So, the best You can do, to make a site indexed is to make proper SEO and adding a GoogleSitemap.

    cya,
    /PatrikB
