Hi, Quick question for you all. On my blog (which up until yesterday was mainly white with blended ads) averaged around $0.25 per click. Now I changed the colour scheme of my blog yesterday evening to a dark grey colour and my google ads i changed to fit in with the new colour scheme. Now my number of clicks has stayed roughly the same but I am recieving only around $0.10 per click ( a drop of $0.15 per click!). Does the colour of your google ads effect how much you recieve per click or have I just had a freak day? Thanks dp! sparxxx
I would say that color has a big impact on the number of clicks but no impact on the earnings per click. For that, look at how many ad blocks you have on the page and their relative positioning.
This is the thing, My blog is laid out EXACTLY the same as before just a new colour scheme to liven things up a bit. My CTR has stayed roughly the same (Very slightly lower than normal) but my cost per click has dropped by more than half. This is the first time I have ever seen such a huge drop and I have NEVER had clicks worth below $0.15 before.
never heard about similar case... really don´t think the color of your ads can impact value of displayed ads. I would wait a few other days if it goes up and then maybe change colors back - so you will see if there´s any relationship... personally, I think that´s only a coincidence, don´t be afraid
Cost per click is based on the bidders. The color is just attractive to your visitor, where they will click on it more
Thats partly what I was thinking though - do bidders have any control over what colour their ads would appear in?
I can't see why it would, though it does make one wonder...I was preached at about optimising the colours (i.e., blue link) to make them more clickable, but since that's not the issue here, rather the value of the click, I'm at sea.
Color does not affect how much you get per click. It does affect the AMOUNT of clicks you get. If your ads match your site's theme, there is a bigger chance that you will get your ads clicked.
If they want their ad to be on top, they have to bid a little higher than other bidders based on the keyword as I've addressed not the color. For example, digiltalpoint has an alternative colour because they have repeat visitors. You may try it out and see which color works. Best luck
I doubt that the colour will influence what you get paid per click. It will influence the visitors reaction towards your ads the the number of clicks you receive.
Thanks for all your feedback everyone. Still getting around $0.10 per click today so far also. Will give it another day to see if this continues then change the colour to see if I get an increase. Its very strange!
i think that its how well the ad attracts the "clicker" - even if its pretty colors and the content in the ad doesnt seem relavent to his interest, he wont click it, and i doubt the color affects how much you make - if its red and u make $0.05 and if its blue, u'll still make $0.05
