Does Acquiring High PR Irrelevant Links Help At All?

    Relevancy is important but let me ask you a question. Are you a human? yes. And as a human we are all more similar than dissimilar which means we can talk about random subjects and post "random" links on "irrelevant" pages when showing friends. The internet is a web of interlinking content. I'm sure there are links to facebook/twitter and myspace on random cooking blogs and forums which count because the link is a "vote" in a way, and just because the page isn't optimized for social networking doesn't take away the fact someone thought it was worthwhile enough to not only post, but not get deleted.

    That said, there are plenty of relevant links to get, but don't go out of your way to avoid the irrelevant ones.
