Does a querystring effect the backlink?

    Does anyone know if a link to:
    xxxxx.com/index.asp?variable=value
    will still count as a backlink for
    xxxxx.com/index.asp

    I've been wondering that for a while...

    I dont think it does because in theory xxxxx.com/index.asp?variable=value can be different to xxxxx.com/index.asp (Two different pages).

    if the /index.asp?variable=value page is indexe by google or the others, it will be counted as a backlink
