Can a well-optimized (backlinks, good keyword density, etc.) one-page sales letter site for an ebook rank high in the search engines? I know this depends on the competitiveness of the search term/niche, but in general is it worth investing time/money into working a one-page site up to the top of the SERPs, rather than (or in addition to) relying on CPC advertising, viral marketing, etc.? Any thoughts?
i have a few one page sites that rank well and a few that got blasted out of Google but OK with yahoo and MSN IMO: If you can make the one page site something like a 5 pages site with 1 main page and the others just as a filler it might get better
yes why not ? if you have quality backlink and you have more quality strength than your keyword competitors.
a well optimized one page site would be too specific as the number of key words would be limited. apart from that the ranking of a website in SERP's depends on various other factors and one of it is theme & content-- How much content a one page website may contain??
I agree with Mad4, more pages = more keywords to aim for = more traffic which could bring = $$$ if it's what your after if your aiming for a single keyword, then yeah a one page site can do it, but if it's a term like 'mortgages' get some more content and pages up there
I always like to make lots of pages related to the keywords I want to target ( by cloaking or the regular way ).
