Does a Google search box increase revenue?

Google maintains that if you put their search box on your home page, then they'll share revenue with you if your searcher clicks on the searched pages Adsense.
Has anyone noticed a difference in their Adsense payment after adding a Google search box?

I haven't found a webmaster yet that earns nice $$ with it.

I took it off after 2 days, just a waste of time.

I put it on the lower right part of some pages. If they get that far they've gone past most or all of the ads so it's kind of just a last chance for some revenue. It's maybe 1-2% of my revenue.

Thanks, for this. The way Google implies you could retire to the Bahamas on the earnings! I'm more worried about taking people away from my site.

Search earnings will be broken out separately in your adsense account, so you should be able to see quickly if it works out for you.

Even a small revenue increase might be worth it if you want a google search box on your site anyway...

We tried it but saw very little revenue from it, so we removed it after a few days as well. I would assume it works well on some sites though since google keep offering it.

I put it on there because it provides a way for people to search my site. I only make about the 1-2% that someone else mentioned, but I think its a good service to provide.

I agree with that; if it fits well into your site and you feel it will benefit your visitors, then by all means use it, even if revenue should not be too impressive...

Exactly why I took it off. Just a huge door open for your visitors to step out your site

I'm worried about taking people out of my site, when they could be clicking on my other pages. Has anyone tracked visitors to see if they return to their site after going to another site for more information? I suspect you've lost them for good.

One good thing about it is that you are allowed to open search results in a new window. I think it is a good idea to put it in the footer of sites that have low paying ads. It is possible that they will make a search for a high paying topic using your search box.

I think it is not for people, having less traffic. So it is better to not have it and just concentrate on adsense.

There are many sites where it is not required at all.

"Some" say it is a great source of revenue, but I firmly believe otherwise! No way.

    I am newbee at adsense.
I dont own a website but have a subdomain called www.amit.freewebtools.com.
I could not upload the google adsense ad,because i think the java script is not allowed in free servers like mine.
For the search box, i kept one and wanted to try,so i searched 10 times somethings like ebooks,ebay,free.... and next day i saw 0.06$ in my account.

I have both site search and google search. The site search has better revenue (display adsense ads along with search result).

    amitpatel,
    FYI
There is no way you can make money with searches alone, if the ads are not get clicked G wont pay you any $$. :)

you are violating AS TOS in more than onway.
    1. You shouldn't have more than two Adsearches in a page.
    2. The title "TO SUPPORT THIS WEBSITE SEARCH ANYTHING IN THE GOOGLE SEARCH BOX.DO AS MANY SEARCHES U CAN DO" may make AS respond adversly.
    3. Do not click the ads on Adsearch pages from you site, which is same as clicking on the regular ad contents on your site.

Pls take care of your now new a/c & don't jeopardise what could have been a excellent income source one day.

Well, to see 6 cents in your account, surely you must have clicked your own ads. That is something that you must never do!

I would also recommend you to immediately send an email to google adsense saying that you clicked on your own ads and to kindly disregard them as invalid clicks. You may save yourself a google account for some other day.

    Good luck...
