    Good page rank with right anchor text will help you getting better ranks in search engines. So in some way it gives you more traffic.

    PR only determine your value of website nor drives traffic. Content always drives more traffic, it should be unique and fresh content.

    PR is the signifies the importance google asigns to your page for relevancy but it doesn't neccessarily come as high PR high traffic as there are other determinant factors to the amount of traffic you receive to your page like the number and strenght of the competion etc.

    I think with PR you would have naturally gotten some good traffic. But that all depends on your backlink building and your content optimization.
