I noticed.... it seems every time I update my homepage... which is about 3x a year..... I get a boost onto the 1st page (from the 2nd page).... then a week later, back down to the 2nd page Whats up with that? Does a fresh update re-crawl your site and give you some boost? If I keep updating it once a week... do you think I'll just stay on that beloved first page??? -Fbos
Many had justified that they are in good position when they regularly update their content, also Google mention about fresh content too on their guidelines. Better plan on it too, and keep thinking on information for your visitors. It can't guarantee but who knows, that might work for you..
By fresh update you mean fresh content or fresh design? Fresh content should be added as often as possible, at least once a day. Redesigns shouldn't be done more than 1-2 times per year.
i don't thing so its all time possible.... if your site content very good and on page optimization good then may be its possible.... but every time not possible..........
frequent adding of fresh and unique content will for sure help you a lot on google SERP!! Definitely.
You can fresh content but if your site has low PR it won't be indexed so frequently at first. Only after you have gained some PR will your site be indexed more frequently, for high PR sites your site can be indexed almost immediately after you update something. I experience this for one of my sites which has a good PR.
I have not seen evidence of this at all. I think it is a myth. When I update my sites, nothing happens and when I don't nothing happens too. Some blog I seen, have not been updated in years, and yet they still get good traffic.
"Content is King" - Ever heard that saying before?....It's definitely true. The More and more content you add to your site, the higher and higher it ranks, for the majority. Doesn't mean that your site will get "re-crawled", just means that when it does get crawled, "Google" likes what it sees and wants others to read it as well.
If you just change the home page, you will not be on first page of Google. Definitely content is main area to be on top in SERP but along with content be focused on keywords, key phrases, LSI, etc.
I noticed a 1st page jump.... all 4 times I made an update to my homepage within the last year Thats got to be what the word is
It could be both Yes and No. The whole change on homepage content could bring you some move up in ranking if your content "main concept" is almost same as the one before. This will be justified by Google algo itself. However, I do recommend you should retain your old title whereas possible. The change on title means change a big on-page factor and could bring your site down for a while, may be a week or more.
