Of course a facebook page could only add some blog traffic but I am wondering does it really add much. I'm thinking it does not help much because the facebook users are focused on catching up on facebook stuff and not reading a blog. Facebook users please share your experiences.
There are many things which you can do on fb like creating groups, joining groups, making notes and many other things which are sufficient enough for getting a good amount of traffic.
Depends how many fans you have, but I think it's as good as having RSS subscribers. Even better because of all the opportunity for viral growth. I get decent traffic from my Facebook fan page.
You can give it a go and see what happens. If your customers or your target market is really passionate and active it may well be worth it. Look at some of those political and non for profit groups. They are doing amazingly well. But a large majority of general pages fail to attract any interest and give minimal traffic to your site. A lot of people will become fans of a page just because they want more of these in their profile.
+1 for this. Personally i think it's better than RSS sub coz most people check their fb more frequent than RSS feed.
It does if you're posting a link within your content on the Page's wall. Don't rely on the link being on the left hand side, it typically will not get a lot of traffic.
It has some merit at this point, as you can see Google indexing FB sites and including it in search results. It might depend where things go in the future to determine just how much the search engines will give FB weight for rankings, but if they do like FB, would you rather be playing catch up?
Exactly, Its as good as RSS subscribers .... Any contests that I run on my blog, I promote them all on my Fan page, and get a good amount of entries from Fans .... Plus, I send occasional newsletters to all my Group members, and include some things from my blog in it as well .... It works really well , esp. for Contest Promotions for me !
One good thing to do is create a contest, or do some kinda charity -- something that gets people to 'invite' their friends to share your facebook page - this is how your facebook page will go viral. If nobody shares it, then you have to work hard to get followers, and that's just another thing you have to market...
it take lot of time to get traffic from face book.i dont understand how to build a fanpage ..lot of people saying they getting traffic from fanpages..
Well it totally depends on what you are sharing with your fan page fans. If you are sharing some good things like images or daily updates so you can drive a lot of traffic via facebook fan page.
I definitely experienced some temporary traffic increases through Facebook, but I am still busy trying to find a way to get permanent increases. It's probably important to keep picking up new fans (or people who "like" your site) until your site reaches a critical level of importance.
