does a customer refund withdraw the commission?

If the customer asks refund from the advertiser, will the affiliate who made this sale loses the commission correspondingly?

    Yes, it is.

I just realized this afternoon that I lost about $25 commission because one of the buyer I referred has asked for a refund :(

Yes, that is why Clickbank holds back $XX of dollars in your account based on your sales. It is held in case a refund occurs after commissions are paid out.

Don't worry about that, there is nothing you can do. Just do a good job of preselling to avoid refunds.

Be sure to explain to your reader what's in it for him, so that he will not be disapointed.

I actually disagree slightly - because to some extent, the refund rate will depend on the product. Some products notably and consistently have very high refund rates because the product itself is just worthless (read: most iPod/mp3/tv/satellite/zune programs). I've seen refund rates up to 50% on these because they're just plain bad products. So if you keep in mind the real value of the product, and how likely the product is to really satiate the customer's needs, you'll have a better chance at avoiding refunds.

Like anyone, I've had my share of refunds here and there, and I think a general figure of up to 5% is common on most products. Any higher than that though, and you're selling the wrong product, or the right product to the wrong people.

Yeah, obviously the affiliate will lose commissions otherwise clickbank will go bankrupt.
