Does 301 redirect without using domain name affect page ranking?

    Hello All,

    Can anybody tell me if doing a 301 redirect without using the domain name in the redirect affect ranking at all?

    For example:
    I did "Redirect permanent /old-file-name.html new-file-name.html" instead of "Redirect permanent /old-file-name.html http://www.your-domain.com/new-file-name.html"
