I don't think you need a graphics card. I connected my 19" monitor to my friend's laptop without any problem so 22" monitor should also work fine. :)

What port does the monitor have? Is it VGA port? If yes, then your laptop should have a "VGA ouput" to be able to connect the monitor to your laptop.

The monitor that you're about to purchase come with a VGA cable and your laptop have a VGA-Out port, so you can use the monitor with your laptop without any problem.

The display resolution that you'll get is depend on the monitor that you use and not on the graphic card.

Depends on what resolution you want it to run at, looking at your laptop it might have troubles using it at the max resolution.

Nope.. A dedicated GPU isn't needed.
However, if you want to get high resolution crispy view, better buy a GPU with atleast 128MB RAM.

Buy a graphic card that handles high resolution.

If you're gonna play games, look out for cards having 512 MB Video RAM like ATI of Nvidia.

You need graphic card to enhance the graphic quality, to watch High-Definition movies and to play high-end games. No need to buy Graphic Card but if you wanna make your PC like a HD-TV then bring one..
