Hello to all, I have a problem that I need some direction on. I am designing an eLearning course using a web based utility called UDUTU. The course will be hosted on our Moodle VLE. The issue I am trying to resolve is this.....We have written our course using Word 2007. I need to transfer that to the UDUTU utility, one screen at a time. I am just doing the copy/paste method. When I paste the doc.x format into UDUTU, it strips the Word formatting. Sometimes that's ok, other times it take me 1/2 hour to fix to using the HTML editor that if part of the UDUTU template I am using. What they suggest is to paste it into Notepad, thus stripping the Word format, then copy/paste that into UDUTU. If that works, fine I will do that. My question is this...are there any free utilities you can recommend that I can transfer a doc.x file to and covert that to a simple text file not using Notepad? Some of my issues are that I don't know HTML, so that is slowing me down. As always, any help is appreciated! -Dave
You can save as a .txt file whilst in Word 2007. Does Moodle only allow plain text? Or can you use Rich Text (.rtf) on it? To do this: Go to Save As > and click the drop-down box beside 'Save as type:', and select Plain Text (.txt) or Rich Text (.rtf) and hit save. Then you should be presented with a box about converting it to .txt and what it'll remove, what you want it to replace, etc.
Hello Piggy, It does allow Rich Text..... I feel more like a nOob now not realizing that I can save from Word. What a rookie! Thanks for the reply....if you have any other suggestions, I'll take them onboard. Cheers, Dave
