Do you write original articles in your area ?

As a seoer, it is very important to manage the website content well, keep it updated, alive and original. However, it is super difficult to write good articles and it costs a lot of time. I write articles everyday, and since i know little about construction machinery, writting a good one is almost impossible to me. I just wondering what you guys deal with the article writting, and any good suggestions to share ?

Here is what each part should be about:
    1/ The Opening paragraph
The goal of the opening paragraph is to grab the attention of the reader. If they have started reading the article it is because you already grab their attention in your headline, but their attention is not granted and they might as well click away after a few words. What you should do to keep their attention is tell them what BENEFITS they will have from reading your article, and/or how they will be able to SOLVE their PROBLEMS by reading the article.

    2/ The Body
The body of the article usually consists of the points you actually want to address. It is the place where you deliver on the title of your article. It usually consists of 3 paragraphs, up to 5 if the article is long, each paragraph addressing one point.

    3/ The Conclusion
The goal of the conclusion is to summarize what has been said previously. This is a must because some readers will actually only read the opening paragraph and the conclusion, and if your conclusion is good they get the information they want and they will probably have a look at the resource box. A good conclusion will also keep the attention of the reader who has been all the way through the article and lead him to the resource box.

    4/ The Resource Box
The only goal of the resource box is have your reader click on your link to visit your website (of course it is also to get a valuable backlink to your website pages, but we’re not talking about SEO here). The resource box is key and you should write it in a way that the reader is compelled to click on the link. Don’t make it boring, make it exciting, entertaining, offer some freebie, let people know that the solution to their problem is just a click away.

Simply use this structure and it will put you ahead of your competition. Then, use the structure to your advantage and you’ll have a winner!

I write articles. Unless you are willing to pay all the time for articles, it is important to try and write original articles that can’t be found anywhere else, especially for your main website.
I write and I outsource. If a particular topic is going to take too much of my time I let someone else do the writing.

The operative word in your opening post was "original". Most of the writers on this forum respond with "original" answers. But.....we do have our share of spamming software on this forum. This crap is banged out with certain keywords that implement the software.
This of course is also a reality in regards to your subject matter. Finding original content seems to be getting harder all the time. Conversly those who do write original content will have a steady clientele,as these writers are becoming increasingly rare.

I get to paid to write original content. I never thought I'd enjoy working until I started writing online. I was surprised to find out that many people want original content for a penny a word. I have seen so many solicitations for well researched articles at rates even lower than that. I would never do intense research for an article at those rates.

A couple of strategies I use when writing ongoing articles or web content for clients in industries I may not have worked or have no real experience - to get content ideas:
-find and subscribe to free email newsletters from industry sources - rewrite or summarize or use to spark new idea
-use Google Alerts to track industry keywords and automatically find me potential useful resources

When I have a request to write about a topic that I'm not familiar with, I try to see how it is similar to other things I might know more about.

I had a client who worked in construction equipment too - road graders, front-end loaders, etc. When I started thinking about them like cars with lots of fancy attachments it made things easier. In many ways the issues are the same - comfort, power, functionality, etc. The other thing you can do is talk to people. Talk to your client. Talk to their customers. Talk to someone on a construction site. The thing I always find interesting in doing that is that all 3 will almost never agree what the most important feature of the equipment is.

Also look for forums in construction. I have been amazed at how many seemingly obscure topics have large and active forums. Did you know that there's a forum for people who own car washes with separate sections for unattended sites and self-serve ice machines? I didn't until I had a project for an ice machine company.
