Couldn't agree more. Write for your readers. Provide great information in a conversational manner that will have them coming back for more and telling everyone about it.

These readers become customers/clients and will talk about what you have to say.

If I write crap and readers think I can't put two words together that make sense, even if I'm on page one, what's the value to me or them in finding my site?

Good buddy ythis is the best question to improve your pr to search engine writing . What is blog first we should know that .Your blog is the medium between you and us to share our view on posted topics or your knowledge about that topic .

Don't post crap in your blog , beside this try to post what you think about niche how you think that can be improved , this will help you to get more and more readers because few accept you , few will give advice to improve and many will ask you for more your view .

I love to write for my readers and i usually post only those things which my reader will love .:D , Quality is the best comparing to quantity .

I would write something more to human interest. As I'm not good in others :)

I write for my readers, but sometimes I title my blog posts with just my primary keyword phrase. I am on page one of Google now for over 1500 different keywords and I have found that search engines reward good content, but you have to be smart about how you present it to them.

This is why you see people say put your keyword in the title, intro and closing paragprah. And do variations of it in the body. It works!

In my opinion and as a blogger I absolutely can't imagine writing for SEO compared to readers. Does it mean I don't optimize my content well? Do'huh! Most surely, NOT! I have my own rules in terms of seo and optimization as a whole. As an example, I don't use keywords in my posts/pages but only in the home page. I let google decide the best keywords for me, it's a big bet I'm letting through into my pouch but I was never afraid to take it, and, I can proudly say that I'm not afraid even now. I'm not a press release writer by any means, not the mr. seo either. I'm a very informal guy with a 'made to be blogger' embedded to my core and I try to focus on my strength rather than following the herd. That way I reach through to my readers and they reach through to the difficulties I face when designing for them. My readers are way much more important than my pagerank anyday and rest assured, it will remain this way for a long time to come. I'm not saying I'm right, I'm not saying I'm wrong, I'm only saying that if you recognize and then follow through with what truly is your strength then you will succeed eventually. Your strength can be stuffing pages with keywords so well that google actually values it. Alternatively, your strength can be giving so much of your knowledge, expertise and heart to your visitors that, they alone will help you gather up the PR you deserve by linking to you voluntarily even though your page optimization is complete crap. Just follow your instincts, be honest about it all to yourself and your readers, always value your work, and you will see that both reader satisfaction and search engine success will become your own shadow in every step you take! Best of luck!

A good article is a good article, whether intended for SEO or readership.

I guess the most important factor is to make the text interesting and appealing. You want people to read it at the end of the day.
