Do you work on single or multiple projects?

I was pondering a question regarding the general approach to the world of making money online (making websites, marketing, etc). Do you usually work on one single project (a certain website) at a time or do you work on multiple projects at different stages in the process?

Of course, many of us have multiple websites for various different purposes. I have a few websites that I don't intend to make any money from but I still put significant work into their upkeep. This question is intended for those projects where you sit down and think of a plan from start to finish, and then implement that plan. For example, I would consider a common project among many DP members to be something like:

    1. Research and identify a niche with optimal levels of search volume and competition.
    2. Design and create a website (this includes getting the domain name and hosting).
    3. Create unique and quality content to go on that website.
    4. Research, find, and implement ways of monetizing the site that seem most appropriate (Google Adsense, Clickbank affiliate links, etc).
    5. Decide on a method (or methods) to use for promoting the site (like submitting quality articles of related content to article directories). Implement that method.
    6. Closely monitor all of the relevant statistics about this website (traffic, income, cost, etc) and attempt to adjust the variables appropriately (ad placement, PPC programs, etc).

I started by making rather vague plans that I rarely completed. Learning from experience and fellow DP members, I now put more effort into the planning process and actually sticking to that plan. I am currently working on one project that has been planned out and is in the late stages of that plan. At the same time, I keep thinking about other possible ideas for websites. Any of those ideas could, with proper time and effort, be flushed out into detailed plans. So the question is whether I focus my time on the first project and finish it before moving on, or do I split up my time between multiple projects?

I bet many DP members out there have wondered about this at some point as well. So what do you think?
