I do not wash my keyboard but I use the compressed air, as far as the mouse I wipe it off with the sheets that you can buy for electronics
I usually wash my trackpad and keyboard every month or so. It's not often but I'm the only one that uses this laptop!
I've put a keyboard through a cycle in my dishwasher before and it worked great. It was a very old basic dell keyboard. This obviously isn't a good idea for all keyboards, but if it's on its last leg, who cares? Also, if you live in a place with hard water, this isn't a good idea at all. The minerals will build up inside the keyboard and ruin it.
I usually wipe my keyboard clean only on the surface and have never ever even tried to dust anything from under the keys! I fear of dismantling or breaking the keys! Regards, RightMan
I knew a keyboard and mouse got dirty but didn't know it had that many germs, could you imagine how many the ones at Library, Work or School have! As for cleaning it, sometimes I pick each key of and scrape the dirt.
