Do You Use Your SS# or EIN for Tax Purposes?

Does anyone here give out their EIN (Employeee ID Number) instead of their SS number when they sign up for parking sites, Adsense, or anything else where you have to fill out a W-9?

I don't feel comfortable giving out my SS # but I'm unclear as to if an individual like me can use their EIN for this purpose or if it's any more dangerous than releasing your SS#.

    What do you all do?

I'm not from US, but we do have to enter the EIN, when filling out tax forms. Though, when you do something for your personal purpose, you'll need to give your SSN.

I prefer to use the social security number myself.
