I would like to learn about experiences from others that have used or currently use Yahoo Answers to ask questions or get help. Is Yahoo Answers a good Q&A resource that you use or would recommend to others? - How is the Yahoo questions and answers portal different than other popular Q&A sites?
Quora seems to be more popular, shows at the top of the searches all the time. Not many people go directly to either one of those sites, but if you search Google, Quora ranks higher.
Quora tends to be very spammy though in terms of the same posters copy and pasting replies with the same links, marketing the same products.
All those people who are saying that Quora ranks higher in Google search results; the reason is Yahoo is affiliated with Bing and Google and Bing (owned by Microsoft) don't get along pretty good. When it comes to quality Yahoo Answers is far better than Quora. Quora is now used by spammers to gain traffic through well written articles and then linking those articles to their sites.
Yahoo answer are not designed for backlinking it is a reputable site to help people in needs of accurate information for their queiries.
trusted tefl reviews ehsanji I agree with both of you. Not only webmasters spamming quora, but it has also become a front for political propagandas now.
I agree, Jeet. Besides the obvious polarization of political opinions, I've also seen a rise in far right wing romanticism and semi-naked click bait posts. A competitor of ours recently flagged the majority of our posts and since then, I fail to see the reason, neither logic, why I should add content to a third party website. OK. It's more civil than Reddit, but there is so much misinformation out there and websites, such as Quora, are contributing to this modern day phenomenon.
trusted tefl reviews Its like you spoke my mind. Right wing phenaticism is certainly on the rise on quora. They got pages and topics everything, like an organized group is doing it, not just a handful of individuals. I even contacted quora about this problem using their contact form, which I found with great difficulty, and they took no action about those topics or posts. Militant groups identified and recognized by CIA are posting openly on quora in these topics and luring people towards their phenatic mentality, and quora is least bothered...
Danywenyheny Yahoo answers have been there before quora I think. Its a nice website. https://answers.yahoo.com/
I usually avoid Yahoo Answers (or any other Yahoo site) because I'm in Europe and they show me one of these obnoxious page-blocking IAB Europe consent banners when I access their site. I have to agree that Quora can be a bit spammy. Most of the time I end up on Stack Overflow when I have programming-related questions.
chuiuiui Stackoverflow is probably the best out there for programming related questions. But I don't like their interface of replies to answers.
