Exactly! And is so much fun doing that! I like way more my twitter list than an email list, because twitter is more interactive, they are more friendly.
I have tried to use twitter as a tool to get traffic to my site, but I find it hard to get "targeted followers". It´s difficult to get the right people to be your followers. How do you do it? Any tips?
You could set up a giveaway in exchange for a tweet about your site like I did here : http://buzztwts.com/ Make the freebie attractive enough, and your visitors will use the form to tweet about your site, and so they will get a viral buzz going. It has definitely worked for me with earlier sites. To set up such a campaign Google for Viral Twiter script
Yes, You can also think about tweetfeed that can automate the process of pubblish you site content on twitter
I purchased a Fiverr gig to tweet my link to 1 million followers plus receive 2500 followers to my Twitter account. So how it worked was to tweet my link 4 times to 250,000 followers. My results were not very impressive. Out of those 4 tweets I only received 23 clicks. As for my new followers, yes I have over 2500 new followers, like the gig posted promised, but not a responsive group to say the least. I purchased this gig because of it`s rave reviews, but I sure did not have a great experience. I think it really does matter on who the followers are. This would seem to be the difficult part, to find a list of followers that actually have an interest in your product. Some people do have success with twitter not sure how they go about this. Especially finding people in the niche your trying to market to. Any advice from advanced Twitter marketers would be appreciated. Sabrina
Twitter is an amazing tool if you used properly. You have to be able to understand your target audience. Curate all of those relevant users/target audience and network with them. In terms of traffic, after curating and collecting all of those relevant users, you start to get hits from them just for following. When you blog, and post great content, you'll get more traffic. I suggest to not use Twitter for strictly promoting. Stick with a rule of 1/4. Meaning every 4 posts, you can reward yourself and promote your business in a straightforward manner. A good way to promote yourself is to create campaigns or giveaways on twitter; and use the hashtag #giveaway, because there are people out there who solely look for campaigns on twitter who will like and promote your page for you. On one account, one tweet got over 500 hits in two minutes; 60 hits is equal to an add in the newspaper.
Of course now a day blog spot as blogger word press and also twitter are big famous in Online marketing as social network website with the help of this we can create RSS feed your own blog and mention our product and services.
I am depending on my 3 twitter accounts with total +100.000 followers to generate +20.000 page views to my blog daily and i am using adsense... that gives me +40 dollars daily very easily... Twitter is a non-stop traffic machine.... So I have no doubt that twitter is a very important way to get targeted traffic according to your tweets.. Regards
A better way is to reach out to other experts in your niche. Follow them on Twitter. Retweet their posts and content. Eventually you

you can promote your website for free using various tools and strategies online. You can begin with social bookmarking and social networking. Social networking is a great platform for promotion and web advertisement, you can begin with top sites as FaceBook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and more. You can also do guest posting to obtain more traffic and take good advantage of sites like YouTube to promote your blog.
Twitter is not worth it to promote your site if you have less than 250 followers I am using it and I only have 40 followers trying to promote my forum
Yes, I use twitter to promote my blog. I also tweet hubs with slow traffic more than once because it's likely it was not seen by all of your followers the first tweet. Another thing I do is have a different lead in statement according to what's trending. For example, for the Newtown tragedy, I lead with a condolence followed by my hub poem on sibling death. The views increased instantly for several days. And the last thing I do is after that lead in, I add "retweet." This way even if your followers don't read it, they will at least retweet. I figured these tricks out myself trying to increase traffic and gain a larger audience.
